Successful Office 365 Tenant-to-Tenant Migration – Lessons Learned

We recently completed an Office 365 tenant to tenant migration and wanted to share some key takeaways. The most critical steps were planning domain transfers, migrating mailboxes, and ensuring minimal downtime for users. We started by verifying domain ownership in the new tenant early to avoid delays. For email migration, Microsoft’s Cross-Tenant Mailbox Migration could work if you had purchased additional cross tenant user data migration license and has proper knowledge of the manual migration. We tried very hard, but it did not work well and gave us unexpected errors.

Finally, we gave up and searched for Office 365 Tenant to Tenant Migration solution and end up contacting CloudBik. Their support was amazing, and the process is quite easy. Did complete migration through their solution. What I have learned is that if you have lots of data and do not have much time, it is better to go with the third party tested solutions.
